Overview

Since 2008, the Western Green Awards have recognized dozens of campus community leaders who have made positive contributions to advance sustainability at Western. These awards have evolved into the new Western Climate & Sustainability Awards, aligning with Western’s commitment to making sustainability an imperative. You can view past recipients of the Western Green Awards on the left side of this page.

The Western Climate & Sustainability Awards recognize an individual or team that initiates or supports an activity with positive sustainability outcomes. The purpose of the award is to acknowledge community members (students, faculty, and staff) who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to advance sustainability and climate action.

All Western students, faculty, and staff are eligible to be nominated for a Western Climate & Sustainability Award. A detailed overview of the award can be accessed here.

Recipients of a Western Climate & Sustainability Award will be recognized at the annual Sustainability Impact Showcase on Friday, March 21, 2025 (1-2pm).
