Springfest 2025
2025 marks the third annual year of Springfest at Western! Springfest is a month-long series of events celebrating the Western Environment & Sustainability Network. The network includes over 35 different student-facing clubs and groups on campus. These groups have collaborated, with support from Western Sustainability, to develop a network which meets regularly to build connections and network amongst the groups, hold dialogue about Western's sustainability initiatives and student perspectives, and to raise awareness of student-facing sustainability opportunities.

March 3 - FRESH Cooking Demonstration
Time: 5pm - 7pm
Where: Sydenham Hall
What's on the menu? Maple Overnight Oats
FRESH will be holding cooking demonstrations for all students at Western! These demonstrations will teach essential food skills to students and they get to take home what they make! We also will have trivia at these events on food skills, food sustainability and food education and students can win amazing prizes! Come and meet the team at any of these events.

March 7 - Open Forum on Capitalism and Colonialism

The Ivey Degrowth Club and Climate Crisis Coalition are hosting an open forum conversation about how capitalism and colonialism intersect and its effects on our economy, lifestyle, and future as a society.

March 7 - Shaping Sustainability Priorities: A Campus Conversation

Where: Virtual on Zoom
Join this conversation to learn about what we've heard through campus consultations so far, and share your input to continue shaping our climate and sustainability priorities on campus. Open to all students, staff, and faculty at Western University and affiliates. There is no preparation required in order to contribute in this conversation. We hope to see you there!
March 9 - Youth Climate Lab Climate Policy Workshop
Time: 2:00pm - 3:30pm
Where: Virtual on Zoom
Student Energy UWO is having a YCL workshop free of charge! The 1.5-hour virtual workshop will be focused on domestic climate policy and the progress of the Sustainable Development Goals in Canada. If you are interested in environmental science or public policy, this workshop is for you!

March 21 - EnviroCon 2025

Western’s Centre for Environment and Sustainability invites you to attend EnviroCon 2025, a free, student-led conference that brings together researchers, community members, and organizations to explore environmental and sustainability topics. This year’s theme, Sharing Environmental Knowledge, focuses on making sustainability knowledge accessible for all.
This is a great opportunity to engage with environmental research, network with like-minded individuals, and take part in important discussions about sustainability. Registration closes on Friday, March 7.

🌎 Research Presentations – Learn about the latest research in environment and sustainability.
💬 Panel Discussion – Hear from academia, City of London, Indigenous community, local school board, and youth on how environmental knowledge is shared and put into action.

🔧 Repair Cafe (March 19) – Bring your broken household items and volunteer “fixers” repair them for free.

Western WaterAid's Annual Sustainability Conference is back! Brought to you by professors, local businesses' knowledgeable in the field, clubs and more! An opportunity to learn, get active in the community, and make valuable connections. You don't want to miss it! Members and Non-Members are free to attend.
March 21 - Sustainability Impact Showcase
Time: 1 - 2pm
Where: Weldon Library Community Room
All are invited to join for an annual celebration of campus community members who are making a positive impact on sustainability at Western.
The new Western Climate & Sustainability Awards, previously recognized as the Western Green Awards, acknowledge up to three individuals or teams that initiate or support an activity with positive sustainability outcomes. Community members who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to advance sustainability and climate action will be recognized at this year's Sustainability Impact Showcase.
Come and meet folks across campus who share similar goals in making Western a more sustainable place with refreshments from Great Hall Catering.
