Free Store

Free Store - Give what you can, take what you need!

Welcome to the Free Store at Western! The Free Store is a space for campus community members to donate items they no longer want and take home things for free.

By repurposing items, you are supporting a culture of circularity and are helping to reduce carbon emissions associated with the creation and transportation of new goods.

The Free Store is open to students, staff, and faculty at Western. Make sure you bring your Western ONECard with you when you visit!

Hours of Operation

The Free Store is open on Wednesdays from 11:30am to 1:30pm, for both shopping and donations.

PLEASE NOTE: The Free Store will be CLOSED on Wednesday, November 5.

Location

The Free Store is located in the Arts & Humanities Building, Rm 1B09.

How to Donate

The Free Store accepts donations if the items are clean, in good condition, and on our list of accepted items. Please review the Accepted and Not Accepted Items lists before bringing your donations to the Free Store.

We are currently in need of clean, reusable grocery bags to support our shoppers. Please consider donating your extras during our hours of operation.

Volunteer at the Free Store

Volunteers play an essential role in creating a welcoming and organized environment at the Western Free Store. Volunteers at the Free Store will assist with greeting visitors, tracking items, accepting donations, and replenishing inventory to support a welcoming and sustainable campus space.

Students who volunteer will receive Co-Curricular credit for completing five shifts (11:30am-1:30pm) at the Free Store.
