March 2026

SDG Month 2026

The second annual SDG Month Canada will be held during March 2026. This national initiative brings together post‑secondary institutions from across the country to build awareness, inspire action, and deepen understanding of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The SDGs are inherently interdisciplinary, and their success depends on collaboration across teaching, research, operations, and student engagement. At Western, all faculties, departments, units, and campus partners are encouraged to take part by hosting events, activities, or discussions that highlight how their work connects to the Goals.

Campus partners interested in showcasing an event during SDG Month are invited to submit event details to the Sustainability Office through the SDG Month Event Form for inclusion on our website.

Change can take many forms: confronting global crises, creating thought provoking art, developing life-enhancing technology, or challenging long-standing theories. The 40th Annual Western Research Forum: Research on the Edge of Change recognizes graduate scholarship as a catalyst for global progress toward an innovative, just, sustainable, inclusive future.

The Western Research Forum—Western’s largest multidisciplinary graduate research conference—seeks to explore the diverse ways in which graduate students question, improve, and reimagine our ever evolving world and how, together, we can drive meaningful change. From reimagining quality education to developing sustainable cities, graduate research transcends disciplinary boundaries. The Academic Committee invites all Western graduate student submissions that showcase how we are expanding the boundaries of knowledge and reimagining what change can mean.
