Earth Day and Earth Week 2017

Earth Day and Earth Week 2017

The City of London will be celebrating the 2017 Earth Day and Earth Week with a series of events, organized by local non-profits and organizations, with the purpose of engaging our community in celebrating our natural heritage and green areas in the Forest City. The following are a few events that will take place this week.

Earth Day 150 Weekend

Help make a cleaner and greener community. Participate in one (or more!) of the following four events:

20 minute London makeover. Friday April 21st. Dozens of London businesses, institutions and schools will get involved in cleaning up their property and nearby shared spaces.

How to get engaged: Organize your colleagues to be available on Friday April 21st at 2pm; grab a garbage and get out to the community to pick up litter for about 20 minutes. Take a photo of your team and send them to cleangreen@london.ca for a chance to win a pizza lunch from Joe Kool’s.

London Clean & Green. Saturday April 22nd. This is the city-wide community cleanup day to spruce up the Forest City for the spring season. Check the different locations for cleanup here

Earth Day London. Sunday April 23rd. This is a Free Family Event, taking place at the St. Julien Park (40 Elgin Street), from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm. This event will be a Canada 150 London Signature Event.

Trails Open London. Throughout the weekend, the London Heritage Council invites you to use the city’s trails, and engage in natural heritage conservation and stewardship, physical activity and a healthy lifestyle, and environmental education. More information here
